Hello friends! I am finally settled from my week in Vegas for the SDE I Teach 1st conference. What a great week! I always love going to this conference. I learn so many new things, meet up with old friends and come home exhausted! That is a sure sign I had a good time. I presented on four topics this year. I am here to recap a few things from last week that I shared.
This first session was all about using theme days in the classroom.
Here some links to a few of the topics I talked about.
The second session was all about hands-on activities that can be used in math. Look for more blogposts on that soon!
The third session was all about your reading block. We talked about organization and what are the other kids doing.
Here are some links to a few of the topics I touched on.
- Using Audioboom to make QR recordings of your books for listen to reading.
- Organizing your classroom library.
- Sight words assessments and fluency phrases
And last, my favorite presentation using interactive notebooks in a thematic way.

If you were unable to make the SDE National Conferences this year, start saving for next year. You will not be disappointed! There are so many great things to learn from them and great people to network with.
