Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend and a bonus is that is may actually rain (or sprinkle), which would be great. It’s fall, but the temperature has still been in the 90’s and 100’s, ugh. I am linking up with Kacey over at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five For Friday.

We finished up with our animal classification interactive notebook pages this week. I still have students who struggle with this, but the activity we did this week I think helped solidify their knowledge and the animal classes. The animal coverings flap pages are fun when you use texture items to represent the animal coverings. You can read more about animal classification ideas here.

Let’s talk bugs. Usually I am disgusted by some of the bugs that crawl around our school. I often feel like we live in the jungle because they are huge!! But a student from last year showed me this cute one and I had to snap a picture. She was going to deliver it to our school garden.

We have staff meetings weekly before school begins. This week we began the staff meeting with a little Blazer Fresh from Go Noodle. Have you checked out the new Blazer Fresh channel? My kids love it!

My son went homesick one day this week. Luckily my husband was able to leave work and come get him, but it made me get into gear and get my emergency sub plans ready to go. My schedule is different everyday, so I have a folder with go to plans for each day of the week. You can read more about my emergency sub plans here.

Toward the end of the week we finally began our salmon unit. Salmon are so fun to teach about. There is some great books and activities to use when teaching them. You can read more about salmon resources here.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Wow! I am totally jealous about the heat :). It has already started getting cold here. I love your animal classification page! It looks very fun!
Wow, you are having very hot weather! This week and next week, highs will be in the 60’s here in Massachusetts, and it’s raining today all day – which is actually fine by me since I got the annual BTS cold! Hope your son is on the mend. Happy wekend!
