I try to be as organized as I can in the classroom. I am no expert, but I have found a few things that work well for me. Today, I thought how I store my daily/weekly prep for the class.
Weekly Prep
I try to have most everything I need for the week prepped but Thursday or Friday the prior week. That’s just the way I roll. The “fly by the seat of my pants” teaching stresses me out too much. Some teachers are good at it, but I am not a fan. I have tried may ways to store my prep for the week, but what has worked for me best of the last few years are daily tubs. The tubs I use, I bought at Lakeshore Learning a few years ago and I love them. There is one for each day of the week and an additional ‘next week’ tub.
Each day has folders for math and reading that I put those supplies in. Each of my days have different schedules, so I have an emergency sub folder for each day of the week. You can read more about my sub folders here.
It’s nothing fancy or super cute, but it works for me! Here is a Pinterest board with more classroom organization tips and tricks.
