Nocturnal Animal Resources
We are a project-based learning school, but for first grade that looks very different then my friends in the upper grade. I am hoping to have my students work in small groups to become an “expert” on a nocturnal animal, specifically focusing on an adaptation they have. Once they are an “expert” they will create something to help them teach their big buddies about what they learned. We will see how it goes!
I will pull out a word list for writing. This list has many nocturnal animals listed to aide in spelling.
I also like to be a little thematic with my teaching. If we are learning about nocturnal animals, we might as well have math centers that are bat and nocturnal animal related!
We will also continue to add to our interactive notebooks. We will pull pages from this pack.
Nocturnal Animal Books
And finally, here are some basic nocturnal animals books I will use. I also have specific animal books, but here is a list of the general category of nocturnal animals.
