Chinese New Year Resources
I always love Chinese New Year. I love the colors and the traditions associated with it. I usually don’t have many students who celebrate the holiday in my classroom, but I feel it is important to expose my students to many holiday customs. Here are some resources you may find in your classroom.
Books
Books are always a great way hook your students into something that they may be unfamiliar with. Here are some great books I use in my classroom for the Chinese New Year.
- Bringing in the New Year
- Holidays Around the World: Celebrate Chinese New Year
- Dragon Dance
- Chinese New Year
- Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas
- Chelsea’s Chinese New Year
- Lion Dancer: Ernie Wan’s Chinese New Year
- Sam and the Lucky Money
- The Dancing Dragon
- Happy, Happy Chinese New Year
Here is a Pinterest board I started with some fun ideas and resources.
