Camping Resources For the Classroom
I love camping! My husband, on the other hand, does not. So I like to “camp” with my students. We usually have a camping-themed day the last week of school. There are so many fun camping activities you can do in your classroom that keep your students engaged! Here are a few of our favorite camping resources for the classroom.

Camping Resources for the Classroom
During our camping-themed day, my students bring in sleeping bags to lay out around the room. I set up a fake campfire area that we sit by when we read camp stories. My students love this!
Camping Books
There are some great camping-themed read-alouds available. Here are some of our favorite books I like to read to my class.

- Scaredy Squirrel Goes Camping
- Toasting Marshmallows
- Bailey Goes Camping
- When We Go Camping
- A Camping Spree With Mr. Magee

Camping Math Centers
I always try to add some review math centers towards the end of the year. I’ve put together some camping-themed math activities for 1st grade that review many of the concepts we have learned throughout the school year.
These math centers can all be found in my Camping Math Centers Pack.
Camping Literacy Centers
Our literacy tubs are also filled with activities that are a great end-of-the-year review for my first-grade class.
These literacy activities can be found in our Camping Literacy Center Pack.
Another fun thing that I like to do is make a s’more snack, using Golden Grahams cereal, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. I thought that I would have my students measure out their ingredients and make their own.
At the end of the day, we write about our classroom camping adventure My students use our camping word list to help inspire their writing.
Do you do any fun camping activities with your class?
