We began building numbers with our Builder’s Club this week! My students were so excited when they came to class on Tuesday and found the classroom caution taped off! The anticipation was driving them crazy! They were given hard hats and then we began. You can read more about how this works here.

We are beginning to learn how to research in our class. As a class, we researched the adaptations of a polar bear and penguins. Now, as small groups they will learn about a different polar animal. Each group has picked a different animal to research. After they research and write down some information, they will make a poster to present their information to the rest of the class. They are very excited to be teachers. They watched videos and found information from polar animal reading passages.

Last weekend I took a couple of weeks and headed up to Idaho for a weekend with friends, no kids or husbands. It was wonderful! We spent the weekend in McCall, Idaho for their winter carnival. It was just what I needed!
The frogs are so cute. Kids of any age would love them. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Once a Teacher, Always a Teacher
Your Valentines gifts to your kids are so cute! And I always love seeing how teachers create excitement around their lessons – the construction hats are perfect! And I love that you begin instilling the skill of research in your boys and girls early on – even simple research is research! Love it!
