Happy Friday friends! Did you have a fantastic week? Mine was exhausting. Will I ever feel caught up? I don’t think so, but in the meantime I am linking up with Kacey over at Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five For Friday.

I introduced some new word work activities this week and my kids were loving them! The Type It was a big hit because they all were pretending that they were on their own personal laptop. You can read more about this activities on this Word Work It blogpost.

I know it’s a little early to think about turkeys, but when I arrived at school one day this week we had a gaggle of turkeys hanging out. They stuck around for a couple of hourse searching our playground and the recycling bins for food. It was a very funny sight to see.

Most of the time when our grade level puts in a supply order it’s for the basics like construction paper or glue sticks. We always have leftover money, so this year we decided to order some fun tools from Laskeshore Learning. Our order came this week and it was like Christmas! We were so excited to open up all of our goodies. I am so excited to play with everything.

We took our first graders to a local salmon fish hatchery yesterday. They had so much fun! It’s a great field trip for them to see the spawning process. For many of my students, it was the first time to see salmon in real life. You can read more about our salmon studies here.

We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and had so much fun. We drive about an hour to go to one that has trains, a corn maze, petting zoo and many other fun things. My son has never wanted to try the zipline, but this year he was brave enough to give it a go and he loved it!! I am so excited because I love to zipline, my husband does not. So now I have a partner in crime, hee hee.
There’s my week in a nutshell. Just a few short hours away from the weekend, yippee!
The turkeys on the school grounds is so funny. I have seen turkeys in the parkway here and in my neighborhood but never at school. I love your word work pack. Thanks for sharing.

Your trip to the fish hatchery reminds me of vacations we took with our own kids. They loved to go to the fish hatchery! Enjoy October. It will be gone before we know it.
